Have you ever wanted to take your volunteer firefighter career to the next level? The Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Company is currently seeking new college Live-In's. Only ten mile away from Harrisburg Area Community College, we offer state-of-the-art living quarters. We currently house Live-In's at both our Station 1 and Station 2.
Station 1, located on 1200 Good Hope Rd., currently houses three college Live-In’s and is the newest of the station. It has three suites, which include two private rooms and a single bathroom. The station also has a day room, library room, weight room, and game room. Station 1 houses Engine 4-30, Engine 1-30, and Truck 30.
Station 2, located on 295 S Sporting Hill Rd., currently houses three college Live-In's. The bunk room at Station 2 is a single bunk room with six bunks and has one bathroom. Also at Station 2 is a day room, weight room, library room, and watch station. Station 2 currently houses Engine 3-30, Engine 2-30, and Rescue 30.
The Hampden Township Fire Company runs around 850 calls a year including fires, auto accidents, other rescues, and medical assists. Currently the requirements to become a college Live-In are: 12 credit minimum enrollment in an area college, essentials of firefighting, hazmat operations, and NIMS 100 and 700.
